Casa Tucupi

Wine Bars $$

The most serious Brazilian-first wine programme in Sao Paulo, with an Amazonian fortified bench nobody else pours.

· Modern Casa Tucupi is the rare Paulistano wine bar that takes Brazilian production seriously without retreating into novelty. Chef-owner Felipe Schaedler and sommelier Bruna Aguiar built the list around high-altitude reds from Campanha Gaúcha, Vale dos Vinhedos sparkling and a small but militant section of Amazonian fortified curiosities — including a tucupi-finished aperitif that gives the room its name.

The international wine bench is intentionally short but well-chosen, with a Loire-and-Friuli orientation that flatters the kitchen's Northern Brazilian small plates. Service is patient and informational, the room is loud, and the by-the-glass programme rotates weekly. Ranks eighth because the Brazilian-first focus narrows the breadth but makes the room genuinely unique to the city.
