Our Take on Naked and Famous

Naked and Famous is the rare bar where the architecture press arrived before the drinks press. Dezeen covered the Lucas y Hernandez-Gil interior in January 2023: a plain Sevillian patio house facade with no sign, opening into three color blocked spaces called the Sala Rosa, the Sala Azul, and the Taller Laboratorio, where the team builds its own juices, syrups, and infusions.

The name is homework. Equal parts mezcal, yellow Chartreuse, Aperol, and fresh lemon: the modern classic this bar borrowed its identity from, and a reliable first order at 12 euros. Where The Second Room in Seville wins on price and happy hours, this room wins on spectacle and a welcome drink that changes daily and arrives unasked.

Twelve euros is real money in a city of 3 euro manzanilla. You are paying for the lab work and the room, and for once the surcharge is defensible.

The Drinks

The Menu, Edited

01
The Naked and Famous
The namesake: mezcal, yellow Chartreuse, Aperol, lemon in equal parts. Order it first; judge everything else against it.
02
The welcome pour
A small surprise drink on arrival, different every day. Tripadvisor reviewers cite it as the detail that sets the tone.
03
Anything off the lab list
The Taller Laboratorio turns out house juices, syrups, and spice work. The seasonal builds are where the kitchen thinking shows.
04
A second mezcal build
The agave bench runs deeper than most Andalusian back bars. Ask the bartenders to steer.
The Room, The Crowd

Reading the Room

Three rooms, three temperatures. The Sala Rosa photographs loudest, the Sala Azul drinks calmer, and the Taller is where the actual work happens. Authentic Interior magazine wrote the place up as a color blocking case study.

The crowd is design literate and slightly dressed, a mix of Sevillanos on date nights and travelers who found it through the architecture coverage rather than a bar list.

Service runs warm rather than formal. Reviewers on Tripadvisor describe the staff greeting tables with water and the daily welcome drink before a menu appears.
