Birthplace of the Singapore Sling (1915)
Long Bar is the heritage Raffles Hotel bar where the Singapore Sling was invented in 1915 by Ngiam Tong Boon. The room is colonial-era — wicker chairs, fans on the ceiling, peanut shells on the floor (a heritage tradition encouraged by the bar).
The Singapore Sling is the only reason to come — 14,000 are served every year. The original recipe (gin, cherry brandy, pineapple, lime, Cointreau, Bénédictine, grenadine, Angostura, soda) is unchanged. Tourist-heavy but the heritage is real.
Pair with Jigger & Pony for a more modern Singapore cocktail evening.
