Our Take

Vienna's Heritage Family-Run Cocktail Bar

Roberto American Bar is one of Vienna's heritage cocktail rooms, hidden in a small building near the Stephansdom. The bar has been operating since the 1980s and the bartender is the third generation of the family that runs it.

The drinks are classical and unfussy — Old Fashioneds, Manhattans, Sazeracs. The room is small with eight stools and no tables, which forces conversation and proximity to the bartender.

The crowd is older Vienna professionals and visiting cocktail enthusiasts. Pair with Loos American Bar for a complete Vienna heritage cocktail evening.
