The most rigorous classical-Austrian and Burgundy bench in Landstraße, opened by the glass at a modern counter.
· Wine list Heunisch & Erben on Landstraßer Hauptstraße opened in 2020 and quickly became one of the more serious destination wine programmes in the city. Sommelier Andreas Götzfried built the cellar around classical Austrian growers — Schloss Gobelsburg, Bründlmayer, Pichler — and extended it deep into Burgundy and grower-Champagne with the rigour of a buyer who actually visits cellars.
The room is bright, modern Austrian-Scandinavian in feel, and the by-the-glass list rotates weekly with pulls from genuinely interesting open bottles. The kitchen does a modern Austrian-leaning small-plates menu designed to flatter both grüner veltliner and Pinot Noir. Ranks eighth because the format is restaurant-led but the wine-bar drinking experience at the counter is genuinely deep.
