Zwölf-Apostel-Keller

Wine Bars $$

Zwölf-Apostel-Keller — meaning 'Twelve Apostles Cellar' — is a heritage Vienna wine cellar dating to 1561. The space is preserved 16th century — vaulted brick ceilings, stone walls, dim oil-lamp lighting — and the bar has been pouring Austrian wine for over four centuries.

The wine list is mostly Austrian — Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Blaufränkisch — with a small German and Italian layer. The food is traditional Austrian — Schnitzel, goulash, dumplings.

The crowd is heritage tourists and Vienna regulars. Pair with Café Jelinek for a complete Vienna heritage afternoon.
