Each of the rooms below has been chosen for a reason that does not appear in the photographs. The Jerry Thomas Project is here for the cocktail discipline; Drink Kong for the international ambition that pulled the city's expectations up; Co.So for the vermouth-and-amaro programme; The Yard for the slower evenings; Freni e Frizioni for the Trastevere aperitivo it defined; Litro for the wine and the walk to Monteverde. Pick the room that fits the night you are planning.
Most rooms here run from late afternoon until one or two in the morning. Aperitivo culture means everyone is at the bar by 7pm; the cocktail bars fill from 9pm; the late drinks happen between 11 and 1. Closed Mondays is common - we have noted it where it applies.
A working editorial ranking. Numbers are guidance, not gospel. Read the notes and pick the room that fits your evening.
