Traditional Thai Music Bar in Yaowarat

Tep Bar opened on the small Soi Nana in Chinatown in 2014 and has been a centre of the Yaowarat Soi Nana cocktail and music scene since. The room is small and atmospheric, with traditional Thai instruments mounted on the walls. Live phin music — northeastern Thai folk music — happens nightly from around 21:00.

The drinks are built around ya dong, the traditional Thai herbal medicinal alcohol that is rare in cocktail bars. The Tep Bar Ya Dong tasting flight introduces three styles. The cocktails use Thai whisky and indigenous botanicals.

The crowd is mixed Thai locals and curious visitors. Pair with the rest of the Yaowarat cocktail scene for a Chinatown bar crawl. Tep is the most authentically Thai of the cluster.
