Our Take on Crown Wine
club · Cellar Crown Wine Cellars occupies a series of decommissioned 1937 British military ammunition tunnels carved into Shouson Hill, restored in 2003 by Gregory De'eb and Jim Thompson into what is genuinely the most impressive private wine venue in Asia. The cellars store close to two million bottles in stable subterranean conditions and host members and guests in a series of grade-listed colonial rooms.
The wine programme is run by the in-house sommelier team and runs vertically into Bordeaux first-growths, DRC and older Champagne from libraries the rest of the city simply does not have access to. Ranks first because no other room on earth combines this scale of historical infrastructure with a working cellar that pours from genuinely irreplaceable stocks.
