The Most Iconic London View, on a Bar
Aqua Shard occupies the 31st floor of The Shard, one of the most recognisable views in London. The bar overlooks the Thames eastward toward Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf, and westward toward the City and the West End. The view at sunset is unmatched.
The cocktails are competent rather than ambitious — the venue is built around the view, and the drinks support the experience rather than lead. The Aqua Spritz is the right first order. The Old Fashioned is reliable.
The crowd is tourists, special-occasion couples, and the occasional City professional entertaining clients. Best at sunset for the view, then move to a more focused cocktail bar elsewhere. For serious cocktail focus, Lyaness at Sea Containers across the Thames is the better choice.
