London's Most Disciplined Cocktail Bar

Happiness Forgets was the first London cocktail bar to operate a strict reservation-only policy with two seatings per night. The 25 seats sell out a month in advance. The cocktail menu is deliberately tight — usually 12 drinks — and rotates seasonally.

Alastair Burgess opened the bar in 2010 and the discipline has been unwavering since. The drinks are precise rather than theatrical. The Bramble is benchmark. The seasonal menu always includes a thoughtful original alongside reliable classics.

The crowd is mid-thirties professionals and visiting cocktail industry. Pair with Nightjar nearby for a full East London cocktail evening.

Bramble

Gin, lemon, sugar, crème de mûre. Created at Fred s Club in 1984. The benchmark version.
