A Pub in a Bank Vault on Fleet Street
The Old Bank of England occupies a building that was the Bank of England's Law Courts branch from 1888 to 1975. After the bank closed, the space became a Fuller's pub. The vaulted ceilings, marble columns, and original safe rooms below remain. It is one of the most visually impressive London pubs.
The cask ale programme is reliable — Fuller's London Pride and several rotating guest cask ales. The pub is famous for its pies, which are made on site and served in deep ceramic dishes. The Steak and Ale pie is the signature.
The crowd is City professionals and visitors who want both architecture and a serious pint. Pair with The Old Bell Tavern across Fleet Street for a complete heritage Fleet Street pub evening.
