Hidden Riad Bar Deep in the Medina

Café Arabe is hidden inside a riad on a quiet Mouassine alley — one of the few licensed bars deep inside the Medina. The interior is a leafy two-storey courtyard with a small rooftop terrace overlooking neighbouring riads.

Italian-Moroccan menu, crisp white wines, a respectable cocktail list. The volume is conversation-low. After a day in the souks this is the perfumed, calm escape that makes the Medina manageable.

Best at lunch on a hot day or at 9pm on the rooftop. Pair with Le Salama for the Jemaa view.
