The Corner

After Work Bars $$

The Corner is the bar that Wynwood needed: a proper neighbourhood cocktail bar without an art gallery attached, without a velvet rope, and without drink prices calibrated to the Art Basel crowd. It opens at 3pm every day and closes at 3am, which covers the full range of reasons someone might need a drink in Wynwood at any given hour.

The cocktail programme is built around rum and agave spirits, reflecting Miami's geographic and cultural position. The bar stocks around 60 rum labels and 30+ tequila and mezcal expressions. The menu lists 12 cocktails at any time, rotating seasonally and priced honestly for the neighbourhood. The bar team takes its work seriously without the po-faced seriousness that afflicts some Miami cocktail destinations. You can ask a question about any bottle on the back bar without triggering a lecture.

The covered patio on the side of the building seats around 30 and catches the Miami breeze from late afternoon onwards. This is the preferred seating on most evenings. The interior accommodates another 40 at the bar and high-top tables. Walk-ins are always welcome. There are no reservations, no minimums, and no dress code enforcement. The best after-work bars in Miami are a competitive category, but The Corner sits near the top of the list for anyone who works in or near Wynwood.

The after-work crowd arrives from 4pm and peaks around 7pm. By 10pm the character of the bar shifts toward a later, louder crowd moving through Wynwood's nightlife circuit. Both versions of the bar work. The 5pm version is for conversation and slow drinking. The 11pm version is for music, energy, and extending the night before a decision about where to go next.

The Corner sits a short walk from Lagniappe and the main Wynwood Walls gallery zone. It works well as a starting point before Wynwood exploration, or as a winding-down option after a dinner at one of the neighbourhood's restaurant-heavy blocks. The bar does not serve food, but the surrounding area has good options if you need to eat first.

Staff turnover is low, which matters. The same bartenders work Tuesday through Saturday, which means regulars are recognized and visitors get consistent service rather than whoever happened to be available that week. For a more theatrical Miami experience, the Edition's Basement is a different proposition. The Corner is for when you want the real Wynwood, not the performance of it.

Miami's bar scene can skew toward spectacle. The Corner is not spectacle — it is just a very good bar that shows up every day at 3pm and does its job well. We recommend it to anyone who wants to drink in Wynwood without an agenda. Also see our editorial on the best bars in Wynwood for a full neighbourhood picture.
