Our Take on Pinewood Social

Pinewood Social operates on a simple principle: give people every reason to stay longer. The result is a 12,000 square foot venue that functions as a coffee shop in the morning, a lunch spot by noon, a craft cocktail bar from 5pm, and a bowling venue all the way through to last orders.

The cocktail programme is genuinely excellent, which matters here because multi-concept venues often treat the drinks as an afterthought. Not at Pinewood. The bar team rotates a seasonally-inspired menu through a well-stocked back bar, and the servers know what's on it. The six bowling lanes in the back run to a vintage American aesthetic that feels earned rather than contrived.

"On a warm Thursday evening, Pinewood's outdoor pool terrace is the best place to be in Nashville. We've confirmed this repeatedly."

The outdoor space opens seasonally and features a vintage Airstream converted into an espresso and cocktail bar. It fills up fast from April through October. If you're visiting Nashville as part of a group, this is your anchor venue for the evening before heading to the live music bars or making the short walk to The Station Inn for something more intimate.

What to Order

The House Spritz
Light, seasonal, built for afternoon drinking. Changes monthly. A good first round while you figure out the bowling schedule.
Mezcal Mule
Their take on the classic — smoky, bright with fresh lime, and served in a proper copper mug. Works indoors and out.
Seasonal Negroni
The Negroni rotation here is worth checking. The bitter component changes with what the bartenders find interesting.
Draft Beer Selection
14 taps rotating through Tennessee and regional craft breweries. A solid pint of something local costs $7 and pairs well with bowling.
Best Time to Visit

Weekday afternoons for coffee and a relaxed drink, Thursday and Friday evenings for the full social energy.
