Our Take on The Patterson House

Nashville gets unfairly reduced to honky tonks and whiskey shots — and while we love both, The Patterson House exists to remind everyone that this city has serious drinking credentials. Since opening, it has been the benchmark by which every other cocktail bar in the state is measured.

The space is deliberately intimate. Dark wood, candle-lit tables, a bar that seats exactly the right number of people to make it feel exclusive without being precious. The menu rotates seasonally and pulls from an encyclopedic spirits inventory. Bartenders here know their product and are not afraid to ask what you actually want before they start building.

Plan to spend at least two rounds here. The first to explore the menu, the second to order what you now know you wanted from the beginning. Walk-ins are possible but tight on Friday and Saturday nights after 8pm. Book ahead or arrive before 7pm to guarantee a seat at the bar.
