What Bar Love Is
Bar Love opened at 195 Brisbane Street in November 2024, on the seam between Northbridge and Highgate. Pippa Canavan and Murray Walsh, who managed Mechanics Institute together for years, own the room.
Broadsheet announced it with the owners' own tagline: cold drinks and hot bartenders.
The Urban List filed it as a disco tinged dive bar. The drinks say cocktail bar; the prices and the posters say dive.
Reading the Room
One small room in red, pink, and peach. A chequered tile bar, hanging retro lamps, and a wall of posters and trinkets, per The City Lane's review.
Seats go fast after 8pm on weekends. There is no second room to retreat to.
