What Beach House Rooftop Is
The Rooftop crowns Beach House Layan, the three story beach building at the Anantara Layan resort. It opened in December 2021 under the line "Three levels. One destination."
The deck sits only on the third floor, but Layan has no towers to block it. The Rooftop Guide, which tracks more than 500 rooftop bars worldwide, rates the sunset view here among Phuket's best.
The sand is a two minute walk away.
Reading the Deck
A wooden deck with lounge corners, cabanas, edge water features, and a stylish bar at its center. The design blends into the hillside rather than competing with it.
Below sit two reasons to make a night of it: Zuma, the international izakaya group's Phuket outpost, on the second floor, and Breeze, the all day beachfront pool bar, at ground level.
What to Order
On the Deck

Who Shows Up, and When
Resort guests, villa owners from the Layan hills, and couples driving up from Bang Tao for the sunset. The tone stays quiet; this is the opposite of a Patong rooftop.
Sunset is the rush. After 9pm the deck thins out and the cabanas open up.
What Regulars Say
- The Rooftop Guide describes the terrace as natural yet luxurious and tells readers to book before visiting.
- Tripadvisor reviewers consistently pair the deck with dinner at Zuma one floor down and call the combination the best night on the northwest coast.
- Phuket 101 lists it among the island's top sunset venues, with the caveat that prices run at resort level.
Who It Is For
- A date that needs to land. Sunset, cabanas, and a wine list that holds up.
- Anyone staying north of Bang Tao who wants a serious cocktail without the drive to Patong.
- Avoid if you budget Thai bar prices. Drinks here cost what the Anantara address suggests.
Before You Go
Soi Layan 4 runs off the Layan Beach road; the resort sits at its end. Taxis know Anantara Layan by name, and parking is easy.
