Rome's Heritage 1980 Enoteca

Il Goccetto is a heritage Roman enoteca with 800 bottles on the wall. The bar has been operating since 1980 and is one of the most respected wine bars in Rome. The room is small and unfussy — wood walls, dim warm lighting, around 30 seats.

The bartenders are knowledgeable and unhurried. The wine list is mostly Italian regional. The cheese plates are excellent. The bar is best for a quiet conversation over Italian wine.

The crowd is mid-thirties to fifties Rome wine enthusiasts. Pair with Roscioli for a complete Rome wine evening.
