The Pitch

Our Take on D/6 Bar & Lounge

D/6 is the rooftop Vancouver's casino built, which tells you most of what you need to know about the pricing. The sixth floor garden patio tucks beneath the curve of BC Place's roofline, and on a clear evening it is one of the better outdoor rooms downtown. The Rooftop Guide ranks it among the city's best rooftops, and on the view alone the ranking holds.

Where Botanist charges similar money for cocktails that justify it, D/6 charges it for the setting. Reviewers describe well crafted classics at prices they call overpriced, and the 18 percent automatic gratuity does not soften the math. The fix is simple: go at 5pm.

Happy hour runs daily from 5pm to 6:30pm, with $14 cocktails, $12 glasses of Culmina Sauvignon Blanc or Fontella Chianti, $7 draught, and 25 percent off share plates. That window turns a tourist trap into a legitimately good hour.

The Drinks

The Menu, Edited

01
East and West Coast Oysters
The anchor of the happy hour order, at 25 percent off share plates between 5pm and 6:30pm. The kitchen is better than a casino rooftop needs to be.
02
Wagyu Little Mac Sliders
The share plate reviewers keep coming back to. Pair with a $7 Granville Island IPA during the happy hour window.
03
Espresso Martini
A Google reviewer in January 2026 called it the best drink on the list, and the classics generally outperform the signatures.
04
Chicken Kara-age
The late night option when the DJ starts and the kitchen narrows. Holds up against the room's $$$$ ambitions.
The Room, The Crowd

Reading the Room

The room splits in two. Indoors runs high ceilings, lounge seating, and a bookcase style entrance; outdoors is the garden patio with its own bar and the stadium roof hanging overhead like set dressing. Thursday nights add fire shows, weekends add a DJ and a dance floor.

The crowd is the casino's: dressed up, party leaning, and heavy on pre-event traffic before BC Place concerts and matches. Friday and Saturday after 10pm the lounge tips fully into club territory. A January 2026 reviewer praised the DJ and complained about being rushed off a reserved table, which is the D/6 experience in one sentence.

For a quieter rooftop drink, come Wednesday at open. For beer in a bigger room before the same stadium event, Brewhall is a ten minute walk across False Creek.
