Six d.o.g.s. opened on Avramiotou Street, near Monastiraki square, in 2009. It is, depending on the hour, six different operations - a café, a cocktail bar, a garden bar, a live-music venue, an art gallery, and a late-night club. None of them is a sideline; all six are, at any given moment, the main thing the space is doing. The right way to understand Six d.o.g.s. is by what each function looks like.
None of the six functions is best in itself; the appeal is the transitions. Arriving at 6pm for a cocktail, moving to the garden as the sun drops, catching a gig at 9pm, and ending in the club at 1am is, in a single address, what Athens nightlife at its best looks like.
