Our Take on Baird's
institution Baird's is the Calton Celtic institution that anchors the Gallowgate matchday geography on the green-and-white side, the way the Louden anchors Ibrox on the blue. The room is wall-to-wall Celtic memorabilia going back through every league title and European campaign of the past sixty years, the screen layout is built entirely around the Celtic feed on matchday, and the songbook is held by a regular base who run it with proper rhythm rather than as crowd performance.
The beer programme is traditional: Tennent's, Belhaven, a competent cask line, a respectable Scotch shelf for after the game. The food is honest matchday work.
The room is genuinely full on Celtic matchdays and runs quieter midweek. It ranks eighth because the tradition is genuinely formidable, even if the room's standalone non-matchday utility is narrower than the neutral leaders above.
