Centro, Mexico City
Mexico City's Most Respected Jazz Cellar
Zinco Jazz Club is hidden in the basement of a 1930s Art Deco building in the Centro Histórico — Mexico City's most respected jazz cellar. Two sets a night, world-class musicians (touring American and Latin American jazz acts), $200 cover at the door (cash).
The room is wood-panelled with leather banquettes, dim warm lighting, and a small stage at one end. Drinks are basic but properly built — old fashioneds, Manhattans, Cuba libres. The crowd is dressed-up Mexico City professionals 30-60 and visiting jazz tourists.
Pair with Limantour earlier for a serious cocktail before the jazz set.
