Our Take on June
wine · Casual June in Cobble Hill is the proof that Brooklyn natural wine drinking does not need to be either Williamsburg-loud or Manhattan-expensive.
The Smith Street room runs a thoughtful, mostly European list with strong Friuli, Sicily and Mosel representation, a kitchen that takes vegetables more seriously than most natural wine bars bother to, and a service style that knows the difference between guiding a newcomer and managing a regular. It earns the sixth slot because it pulled a serious wine programme into a neighbourhood that had been criminally underserved, and because the by-the-glass rotation moves fast enough that even monthly visitors find something new.
