Heritage Osaka Cocktail Bar in Namba
Bar Casablanca has been on the second floor of a Namba building for decades. The room is preserved Showa era — leather banquettes, jazz at low volume, vintage cocktail glassware. The bartenders work with Japanese discipline and the back bar runs deep into vintage spirits.
The cocktails are classical and unfussy. The Old Fashioned uses pre-1990 Japanese whisky from the back bar when available. The Manhattan is benchmark. The bartenders are knowledgeable about vintage Japanese cocktail history.
