What Bob's Bar Is
Bob's Bar is the rooftop of Print Hall, the multi venue precinct inside the old West Australian newspaper building at Brookfield Place, 125 St Georges Terrace. The bar is named for Bob Hawke, and the stairwell up is lined with newsprint from the building's publishing decades.
Happy hour is the institution: 5pm to 6pm daily, 10 dollar tap beers and house wines, per Print Hall's own listing.
Time Out Perth includes it in the city's best rooftop bars. Tripadvisor is cooler at 3.9 across 59 reviews, mostly on price outside the happy window.
Reading the Room
An open terrace over the CBD: standing tables wrapped around planter trees, a couple of lounge corners, and the office towers close enough to read the floor numbers.
Visit Perth calls it a reality check for anyone still looking out from their desk past 5pm.
The Menu, Edited
Who Shows Up, and When
Suits at five, dates at seven, and a DJ playing seventies to contemporary on weekend evenings, per Tripadvisor reviews.
Friday is the crush. Arrive before the towers empty or queue for the stairs.
