The Pitch

What Lums Wine Bar Is

Lums Wine Bar occupies a two storey 1920s heritage terrace at 433 Hay Street, Subiaco. The cellar runs past 100 bottles, with more than 30 wines poured by the glass on any night.

The Urban List covered the landing as a win for a suburb short on small bars. Broadsheet keeps it in its Subiaco bar guide.

The kitchen is Spanish: pintxos by the piece, tapas, and share banquets. The wine list is the point; the food keeps you in the chair.

The Room

Reading the Room

Downstairs is a bar room with counter seats and tables under heritage ceilings; upstairs takes the spillover and the functions.

The official line is cosy neighbourhood bar, and for once the marketing undersells nothing. Forty seats feels like the honest count.

The Drinks

The Menu, Edited

01
A by the glass flight of three
With 30 plus pours open, the move is sideways: three small glasses across regions rather than one large one.
02
Pintxos with whatever is open
Bite sized and built for the wine list. WA Good Food Guide rates the kitchen as serious, not garnish.
03
A cocktail if the table insists
OpenTable diners rate the cocktails alongside the wine. The Spanish gin tonics are the safe call.
The Crowd

Who Shows Up, and When

Subiaco locals at the counter midweek, date night tables from Thursday, and a long Friday lunch crowd that holds until evening.

Sunday afternoons are the sleeper session: 2pm to 9pm, room to breathe.
