Our Take on Suppanova
· Modern Suppanova is the Friedrichshain wildcard, a small natural-wine bar opened in 2023 in a converted Wäscherei off Boxhagener Platz, where former Cordobar wine buyer Maja Suppan pours an aggressively curated list of Eastern European producers — Strekov, Milan Nestarec, Klein, Channing Daughters and a Slovenian core that goes deeper than anyone in Berlin.
The room is twelve seats and a long counter, the kitchen is a single induction hob, and the music is unapologetically loud. Ranks eighth because the format limits what can be done in an evening, but the buying perspective is the freshest in the city and the prices are still post-opening rather than post-fame.
