· Wine list VYNE on Auguststrasse is Mitte's most architecturally serious wine bar — a tall, narrow room designed in a way that takes glassware temperature and acoustics genuinely into account, run by sommelier Mareike Sandner who came over from Tim Raue's wine team in 2021. The list is broader than any other room on this list, with Burgundy verticals, a serious German bench and a Champagne grower section that runs to Selosse, Tarlant and Vouette et Sorbée.

Prices reflect the seriousness. Ranks sixth because the cellar is genuinely outstanding but the format trends formal and the floor occasionally feels like it is performing rather than pouring.
