Our Take on Weinbar
· Modern Weinbar Rutz is the ground-floor room beneath the Michelin-starred Restaurant Rutz, and the most serious classical-leaning programme in the city. Head sommelier Nancy Großmann runs a cellar that includes vertical sets of Keller, Egon Müller, Weil and the Mosel canon at prices that, by Berlin standards, are remarkably reasonable.
The by-the-glass rotation hovers around twenty-five references and turns over every fortnight rather than weekly. Ranks fourth because the room is more restaurant-adjacent than the bars above and the formality, while welcome, can be intimidating to a casual visitor — but for a serious German tasting evening it is the city's reference.
