Our Take on O
· Tasca O Velho Eurico is a small Alfama tasca on Largo de São Cristóvão that has spent the past decade quietly building one of the most surprising small-producer wine lists in the city under owner Alexandre Silva. The room reads as a working tasca — twenty seats, marble counter, blackboard menu — but the wine programme runs to over a hundred Portuguese references with a serious Alentejo and Setúbal bias and a Madeira section that other Lisbon bars treat as decoration rather than drinking.
Prices are tasca-honest. Ranks sixth because the format intentionally limits the by-the-glass rotation but the cellar depth is one of the city's quiet surprises.
