Editorial
Bangkok's bar scene is, as of 2026, the most exciting in Asia outside Tokyo. The combination of cheap rent, world-class produce, and a generation of bartenders who trained abroad and came home has produced rooms that compete on the world stage. The 10 below are picked across rooftops, hidden basements and serious cocktail rooms. Most are in Sukhumvit or Charoenkrung. All run late.
Rooftop Bars
ABar Rooftop tops the 37th and 38th floors of the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park with one of the largest gin lists in the city, more than 50 labels above Benjasiri Park. The open-air deck opens at 5pm and pours creative cocktails until 1am.
Rooftop Bars
Ojo crowns the 76th floor of The Standard Bangkok Mahanakhon, the highest restaurant bar in Thailand. Chef Paco Ruano's Mexican plates meet a curved cocktail bar and 360 degree skyline views, with two Michelin Plates to its name.
Rooftop Bars
Penthouse Bar and Grill runs across levels 34 to 36 of Park Hyatt Bangkok. The charcoal grill sits on 34, the level-35 cocktail bar books live jazz from Wednesday to Sunday, and the top floor opens onto a garden rooftop.
Rooftop Bars
SEEN Restaurant and Bar spans the 26th and 27th floors of Avani+ Riverside in Thonburi with Chao Phraya river views. The kitchen plates Portuguese-Brazilian dishes from chef Olivier da Costa, and DJs run the room from 6pm.
Rooftop Bars
Cooling Tower tops the 34th floor of the Carlton Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit with a wraparound terrace and retractable ceilings. Marble tables, tapas, and sunset cocktails draw an after-work crowd with two-sided city views.
Hotel Bars
Goji Kitchen and Bar runs an international buffet and bar on the ground floor of Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park. Live cooking stations, a seafood counter, and made-to-order plates sit beside a smart-casual bar near Phrom Phong BTS.
Late Night
Telephone Pub has anchored Silom Soi 4 since 1987 as one of Bangkok's oldest and best-known gay bars. Three floors hold street-side seating, a dining room, and a top-floor karaoke room, open from 6pm to 2am.
Sky Bar at Lebua and Vertigo are the rooftop pair — pick one, you don't need both. The Charoenkrung cluster (Tropic City, Teens of Thailand, Tep) makes a good walking evening. Most Bangkok cocktail bars are open until 1 AM weekdays; weekends until 2. Book Backstage and Mahaniyom at least two weeks ahead.
